DO NOT HIRE N ur budget drywall & Painting!!!

I hired Mr. Zapata to mud/sand and primer my 900 sq ft. basement. The drywall was already hung with tape and first coat of mud completed. Mr. Zapata was at my house for 5 days of work 3 of which were short days then cleaned up, collected payment and left claiming everything was done. Upon further investigation of the walls I was NOT happy...the metal corners were showing, there were deep ripples in the mud, tape from underneath the mud was coming threw in some spots, corners were left bumpy and uneven, the seams were not feathered out and some spots were without primer leaving the whole basement left to be redone! This is meant to be our living room when completed. When I called to let him know he said he would come back to finish anything we were unhappy with, Mr. Zapata walked the basement with my husband and afterwards went to work correcting. Within 2-3 hrs he assured me he was done and left. I went down to check it out and immediately noticed he had not cleaned up after sanding the walls. I again inspected the walls and was unable to see the corrections, some places had more mud on them but, a lot of the same issues were still present. Because he told me his work was guaranteed to my satisfaction I felt comfortable calling him back to my home. This time I walked the whole basement and without trying to be to picky my sister and I circled the major spots that needed to be worked on which yet again seemed like the whole basement. Mr. Zapata came back, but was not pleased about it. He told me over and over again "it's just a basement" and also went as far to say "you get what you pay for". He left this time without even sanding the walls and globs of mud on my basement floor! I feel completely taken advantage of, he did not do what he was hired for and his promise of guarantee was empty!! I've now had to hire a second company to come in to correct his work.
DO NOT HIRE TOM ZAPATA!!!
