The Association for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment (A.V.R.E.) is a private, nonprofit organization that serves people with vision disabilities. It is a member of the New York Vision Rehabilitation Association. Operational since 1926, the association offers vision rehabilitation therapy services. The Association for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment offers training classes that focus on the development of independent living and working skills. It also provides orientation and mobility training programs. The association operates the ACCESS-Tech Center, which offers computer technology classes. It offers a variety of recreational and social activities for children and adolescents. The association additionally provides assistance with resume writing, interviewing techniques, job search networking and employer consultation. The Association for Vision Rehabilitation and Employment works with individuals in Broome, Chemung and Chenango counties in New York and Bradford and Susquehanna counties in Pennsylvania.
