General Info

Created in 1937, the North Colorado Water Conservation District (NCWCD) is a public agency, which provides water for agricultural, municipal, domestic and industrial uses in northeastern Colorado. Based in Berthoud, Colo., its service area encompasses 1.6 million acres in portions of Boulder, Larimer, Weld, Broomfield, Morgan, Logan, Washington and Sedgwick counties. In addition, it trains managers, landscape professionals and water conservation specialists to monitor landscape-water use, learn irrigation scheduling techniques and perform irrigation audits with an emphasis on voluntary cooperation and participation. The agency handles projects, such as Carter Lake Outlet, Colorado Big Thompson, Northern Integrated Supply, Windy Gap, to name a few.
