In 2003, I purchased a John Deere L110 lawn tractor and a 42 mower deck from a local business who has since gone out of business. Recently, I had a mishap which made the 42 mower deck inoperable and un-repairable. I went on-line and searched for the nearest John Deere dealer and found West Central Equipment in Somerset Pa and Dawsons Home Center in Berkeley Springs, WVA. I telephoned the business in Somerset and explained what I needed and this business make it quite clear they were not interested in helping me find a mower deck but persisted in trying to sell me a new tractor with deck. I repeatedly said all I needed was a mower deck but they persisted on selling me a new tractor. I then contacted Dawsons Home Center in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia and spoke to Donnie. Donnie focused on my need and said they didnt have a deck in stock that would fit my tractor but would do some research and would call me back if he found one. A short time later Donnie called me back and said they found a new mower deck in the Midwest that would fit my tractor. I told him to order it and to call me when it arrived and I would come and get it. In less than a week I got a call from Donnie saying my deck had arrived. I drove to Dawsons Home Center and was amazed at the in-stock items they had for John Deere products. While there I decided Id get a few other John Deere items for my tractor all of which they had in-stock. Donnie was friendly and very, very helpful and it was obvious he appreciated my business.
