Berkwood Hedge is an independent, kindergarten through fifth-grade elementary school. The school, established in 1947 and based in Berkeley, Calif., offers a variety of subjects, such as mathematics, science, social studies, history, English and Spanish. It also offers a range of activities in its art studio, including music, drama, ceramics, dance, painting and design. The after school program offers arts and crafts, cooking lessons, daily sports and games, including basketball, kickball, capture the flag, soccer, team games and other special activities. The school also offers a daily homework club, weekly sports league and a Latin American music ensemble, Los Mapaches.
