Located in Bennettsville, S.C., the Bennettsville Police Department maintains peace and order, protects lives and property, and apprehends accused and suspected criminals. It is comprised of more than 30 sworn personnel, civilian staff and reserve officers. The department provides patrol services, responds to calls for police service, conducts investigations, enforces drug law, and generates and maintains the records of reported crimes. The Bennettsville Police Department handles cases related to larceny, rape, assault, robbery, child abuse, auto theft, accidents, missing persons and forgery. It also responds to civic disorders and emergencies, as well as conducts animal control programs. In addition, the department offers crime prevention services.
