Incompetent Vet and Manager.

I had my cat in for a physical. Dr. Stayer wrote on my cat's chart "mild dental tartar - Lower lip in btwn - the 2 canine teeth - is mildy swollen, nonpainful". She never mentioned this to me nor did she suggest my cat might benefit from having her teeth cleaned. This information was ONLY in her notes.A year later another vet at Bend Veterinary Clinic performed a physical on my cat. She suggested dental care. One week later I had my cat in for dental cleaning. She required 2 extractions. I don't know how much pain before and after the cleaning my cat was in but I do know it cost me $235.41 extra. One extraction was $88.50 so two should be $177.00 I would think. I was charged $189.50 for "1 Multiple Dental Surgical Extraction". This was on top of the regular cleaning costs.I feel if Dr. Stayer were a competent vet she would have recommended dental care in 2013 that could have likely made the 2014 extractions unnecessary. Teeth that are in severe shape cost less to take out because they are already loose and easily extracted. That costs $11. With my pet, her teeth were still firmly in her mouth which makes me conclude as I have that a cleaning a year ago could very well have saved my cat's teeth.

Rare blood disorder

Dr. Evans was a miracle worker for our dog who acquired a rare blood disease. He followed up with phone calls on weekends, nights and was available for any and all of our concerns. Another vet had different and less optimistic treatment recommendations, but this man saved our dog's life.

Went there for the first time a few weeks ago

This clinic had been recommended to me, but my experience was not a good one, and I will not go back. The vet's compentency was average, but he had a bad attitude. Might have just been a bad day for him, but it resulted in an unhappy and awkward enough situation for me that I will not be back, and will not recommend him to others (will relate my experience and let them judge for themselves). My pet depends upon me to only entrust his care to someone I trust, and this isn't the place for us.P.S. In contrast, the staff was nice and pleasant during every contact via phone and during the visit.
