i.e., A local Most Romantic Trail Ride of My Life! I can't thank Benbrook Stables enough for making today the most perfect afternoon ever. My boyfriend of 3 years proposed to me today on horseback. Everyone at the stables was in on it, and helped him plan the whole thing. We rode out for about 45 minutes and I was shocked to see a whole picnic lunch area waiting for us, overlooking the lake. I knew he could not have pulled it off by himself. It was beautiful. They took the horses while we had lunch and came back to pick us up and we rode back to the stables. Most romantic day of my life. Everyone was waiting at the stables to see if I said yes....lol...I think they were just as happy for us as we were. It was really a special day and I thank everyone for everything they did to make it so perfect. It is definitely a day I will never forget, or highly recommended because

I used to take lessons at the stables because I have always loved horses and wanted to learn more about them. I was told that the lessons would cover everything from the ground up. They weren't kidding. I learned how to groom and tack up my horse, how to feed and clean stalls, even how to take care of them when they were sick or hurt. Sometimes lessons would involve watching the farrier or vet work on a horse so that I could ask them questions and learn more about the reasons behind what they are doing. My instructors helped me learn how to run barrels and poles, and I even got to compete in some of their play days. I had a blast learning about the horses. When it came time for me to get a horse, the owner helped me find one that was perfect for my ability and what I wanted to do. Now I am a boarder and I have a horse that I know is always well cared for by the Benbrook Stables staff. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Should consider a Rodeo school on the grounds. A bit overpriced

I love Benbrook Stables, it is far and away the best boarding facility in Texas. They have a friendly knowledgeable staff and the owners are awesome. They offer so many different activities to do, such as trails, lessons, parties, camps, playdays and so forth. The grounds are kept in excellent condition, very clean, and the animals are taken great care of. Rates are very affordable for any of the events. One of the things I was most impressed with is that safety is the number one concern at Benbrook Stables. This is definately the place to go to escape the rushes of life and relax in a family atmosphere.

I find the staff to be ill informed & rude, especially the owner. I've been out there a couple of times, each time giving them the benefit of the doubt but this last time was last straw. I went out to look at a horse for sale, prearranged, only to find out the owner used my appointment to light a fire under a friend that had been putting her off - she sold the horse out from under me & then didn't bother to let me know, so I made the trip for nothing. She didn't even bother to show up to tell me in person but left it to her staff. They showed me a couple of other horses but could tell me nothing about them. Everyone's answer was the same.."I just started working here." I asked for more info but never got a call back. I had also expressed interest in boarding but at no time did anyone offer to show me around the facility. I think the way they do business is rude, sloppy & unethical. I'll never again use them & I wouldn't recommend them to my friends or family.

Beautiful family environment and fun for everyone. The horses are gentle and very well cared for. All ages and riding skills will have a wonderful time on the trails or on the property. Lots of trained horse people there to help you with whatever you need!
