Russian School of Mathematics is a K-12 math enrichment program founded over 18 years ago that offers weekly lessons over 36 weeks per year in small classes lead by passionate, capable, and trained teachers which are grouped by age and ability level. The program, founded by Russian immigrants, is based on their experience with an incredibly rigorous curriculum as students and educators in specialized Soviet math schools. This Russian/ Eastern European foundation has been uniquely adjusted to accommodate some of the differing timing and emphasis of American curricula to ensure that RSM students are always ready for success. At the elementary level we seek to expose students to algebra early and cultivate their appreciation for and enjoyment of the subject. At middle and high school levels, we look to provide students with a deep and formal mastery of algebra and geometry. At all levels we seek to develop students’ critical thinking, problem solving, organization, attention, perseverance, and confidence. Our results reflect not a narrow preparation for a single competition, but a broad education that can be drawn throughout their lives. Our goal is to prepare students for success through high school, college and beyond.
