Melissa Zam is dedicated to providing compassionate, professional, and affordable counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. Ms. Zam received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hofstra University. She is an Associate Member of both the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the New York Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (NYAMFT). Ms. Zam’s clinical approach is collaborative, compassionate, client-centered and emotionally-focused. She believes that by creating an atmosphere of trust and safety in therapy, clients can uncover unproductive thoughts, behaviors, and patterns of interaction in relationships and explore more productive ways of being and relating to others. She specializes in individual, couple, and family therapy and has experience working with diverse populations with a broad spectrum of issues such as relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, child behavior problems, sexual issues and dysfunctions, co-parenting, divorce, domestic violence, bereavement, infidelity and chronic illness. Ms. Zam is passionate about working with couples and is committed to helping individuals to grow, share, and heal within their relationships.
