Okay - nothing special. Don't get what all the hype is about and definitely overpriced!

I'll go ahead and say that I'm a picky reviewer. I enjoy good food, and I guess this place is okay. I wouldn't go so far as to say its great though. Like several other customers out there, I appreciate the fresh ingredients. What I don't like is the snobby attitude that comes with the food. That isn't to say the staff isn't friendly; they've been nothing but helpful and exemplary with their service. I just think the chefs have this idea in their heads that their food is like what you would buy in a world-renowned deli from NYC. Guess again, friends. I think there is still a lot more they could do. That said, I'm still optimistic about the place.

We ate here today at lunch. We tried the "Woody" ( rueban sandwich) which tasted absolutely amazing. Very fresh and home made ingredients which truly made this sandwich. The staff was very polite and lively. Would definitely recommend anyone to give this place a try.

My entire family eat here regularly and it is hands down the best kept secret in Bedford, Va. The atmosphere is very pleasant and family friendly with a very helpful and polite staff. The food is DELICIOUS!! This place reminds me of something you would see in N.Y., L.A. or D.C. I would definitely recommend eating here and will continue to support such a GREAT establishment!!

I can't say I like this place. I've tried eating here twice on my way home from work. The first time, I was careless and ordered the "Romanian Nightmare" and stayed up all night with acid reflux from the garlic jalapeo spread. The second time, I was more careful and ordered the "Ms. Piggy" (if nothing else, they have great names here) and I'm sad to say, I was incredibly underwhelmed. Sadly, this restaurant will probably fly in places like Bedford where there are indiscriminating customers who fail to know good food when they eat it. Next time, try the Millstone or the Bedford Social Club. Both have better selections and I have to say, more class than this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, a great addition to Bedford! Great green atmosphere and we loved the soft 80's music playing. The food was well worth the price and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. We will make this a bi- weekly visit!

A delicious new addition to Bedford. A great menu unlike anything else in the area. My family has been several times and is always greeted with a friendly staff and we have tried several items on the menu. It is my 8 year old daughter's favorite place to eat in Bedford!

This place is absolutely amazing. From the friendly staff, to the classic look, to the delicious food, all the way back to the WonderWall of beer! One of the best additions to Bedford in years. If you haven't gone here yet, I suggest you take a second look at your life decisions. Must, must, must eat here.

The Town Kitchen is a wonderful addition to the community! The daily specials are delicious and very reasonably priced, as is all the fare. ( I especially love the Gumbo.) The relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff make this my favorite meeting place during the day and early evening. The hosts, Melanie and Jared, set the standard of attention to dining at their very successful restaurant, The Millstone, in Sedalia. Their new endeavor lives up to that standard, but with the additional benefit of take out service and a great deli and kitchen shop. It is casual, relaxed and beautifully decorated. It is the "hearth" of Bedford -- our very own "town kitchen."

Town Kitchen is a lovely place to meet friends and enjoy the fresh food that is amazing. When food is prepared with love for what you are doing it comes through not to mention that it is made fresh with local ingredients. The variety of wine and beer that is available is truly a wonderful selection. The staff is helpful and friendly. I would suggest the Friar Cluck the best chicken sandwich ever or the chicken salad. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Very simply put, the best local food and drink selection you can get with a super friendly and unique atmosphere. I live in NoVA, but travel hours to visit family here in Bedford. This is the ONLY place I've been in 20 years that truly hits the mark for quality and reminds me of the local organic bistros I am used to in the DC area. Well done!

I care very much about what I choose to eat. Town Kitchen not only aides me in my ability to eat conscientiously, by making a point to purchase locally, sustainably raised products, they also do it with attention to flavor and presentation. As a gluten free eater, there are several things on the menu that work for me, including a made from scratch falafel platter (ordered without the flat bread) that rivals the best Ive eaten anywhere. The meal coming with planet friendly packaging, utensils and napkins is a bonus. My ability to have a drink selection that transcends the ubiquitous plastic bottle soda display made me think I had entered an alternate dimension and right here in Bedford? Add to that the classy but comfortable ambiance and youve got the perfect combination for business lunch, catch up with friends, date, etc. Did I mention that I have both eaten in and taken out already with a lovely bottle of wine to go. We're lucky to have this gem in Bedford. Happy dining.

This place is AWESOME!! I LOVE the food and the people who work there are very friendly and professional. I would absolutely recommend this business to friends and family... You must try the "Woody" It is the BEST reuben I've ever eaten!! Also, the beer and wine selection is very diverse and not available at any other local store. Where to start? Great atmosphere, great people who understand that quality is more important than quantity, who support the local economy by choosing their producers locally, who can talk the wine language? Yes, it's pretty much Heaven at the corner of the street! Everything tastes great, salads, sandwiches, quiches. You go home with fresh locally grown organic salads (the spicy is a killer!), cheese and meats after chatting with the cooks while you watch them preparing the meal of the next happy person who walked in, thinking Man, I should have tried this too, looks really good! Jared and Melanie make you feel at home in their restaurants, and that's why you will keep going back! I you like it there, try their Millstone Tearoom as well, a killer little hole in the wall that you will not forget! Love you guys! Annab.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I love the character of the restaurant decor. The food is phenomenal! It is fresh made and they really work with me on my food allergies. The fresh foods section of the store/restaurant has a very nice selection of things I can take home and eat right away or use to prepare my meal at home (from fresh cut bacon, to a variety of cheeses, to fresh vegetables, to fresh made hummus and jams). The kitchen wares section has great inventory and the prices are fantastic! Sue T.

Town Kitchen and Provisions is amazing! Great food and friendly service. I highly recommend the Woody - a reuben sandwich with melt-in-your-mouth tender corned beef. In addition, TKP is community-minded. They are one of the few establishments in this area that intentionally sources food from local farms.

This is just what Bedford needed! It is a great place to grab a bite to eat (carry out or eat in) and many extras. Unique kitchen items that are usable for yourself or make a great gift. One 5 star attribute is the wine selection. Something for everyone with very affordable prices. Very affordable...I bought their homemade Humus recently and am in love. They also carry a special cheese that I have been buying for years that i had to buy outside of Bedford. Now i can get it locally! Upon visiting if you have questions Please ask them! they are more than happy to answer! Don't miss this Gem..

Just what our Town needed! Their unique offerings are not matched by anyone within a 50 mile radius! We have been there several times and have tried just about every item on the menu. We have enjoyed all of the food and beverages thus far and would recommend to anyone looking to relax and refuel n a cozy place where you will feel welcome. Prices are in line with the quality of the fare, they pride themselves on offering the highest quality, locally raised fare and have hit the mark AND raised the bar! Try the Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese sandwich for breakfast, if you have no idea what it is, you owe it to your taste buds to find out! After reading the 2 totally opposite "anonymous" reviews I felt I needed to respond! My name is Debbie Bozeman from Lynchburg, Va. I drove 45 minutes with my 2 sisters, mother and niece to have lunch here last Saturday. We are still talking about what an awesome place Jared and Melanie have created in the heart of Bedford! We had different dishes, loved them all! It was unanimous the potato salad was just like our "Bigmama's", it is lovingly called "Grandmas potato salad!! We enjoyed the quaint setting at the back for a cozy "girls day" out. Myself and my sisters made purchases from the "provisions" section, some for ourselves and some for gifts. The prices were well within the quality of the food. I ate at a place a mile away last week, paid about the same for "OK" food that was ordinary. The entire experience was most memorable, and we have plans for another trip during the holidays! Jared and Melanie have a love for food and serving people and it shows! Wish they were closer!
