Carylwood Intermediate School, a part of Bedford City School District, offers educational and extracurricular programs for children up to fifth grade. Carlywood offers a wide range of special programs, including gifted and talented education, individual investigations, specific learning disabilities, cognitively disabled, and multihandicapped programs. The school also offers severe emotional disturbance, bright beginnings and online alternative high school programs. Its curriculum includes mathematics, English, science, foreign languages, history, geography, economics, music, and arts and crafts. The school has a fully equipped computer laboratory and library. Carlywood s extracurricular activities include knowledge bowl, junior-senior banquet, state fine arts and academic competitions, band and choir concerts, and National Honor Society. The school regularly organizes an array of social events, such as musical concerts, alumni banquet, donkey basketball game and field day.
