Established in 1958, Stone Belt is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of education and support services for individuals with developmental disabilities. It provides a variety of residential programs for senior citizens. The organization operates more than 10 group homes in Monroe and Lawrence counties in Indiana. It offers supervised group and supported living services. Stone Belt offer skills development, shopping assistance, cooking, maintenance and 24-hour emergency services. Its staff includes nurses, social workers, dieticians and program coordinators. The organization serves over 1,300 individuals and has a staff of nearly 500 employees throughout Indiana. It is accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Stone Belt maintains one of its communities in Bedford, Ind.
