The Brownstown Ranger District includes the Charles C. Deam Wilderness, a nearly 13,000 acre designated area managed to provide opportunities for solitude in a natural environment with primitive camping, hiking and horse trails. The Tell City Ranger District highlights include Hemlock Cliffs, a scenic trail into a box canyon with unique plants; Pioneer Mothers Memorial Forest, with a trail through an old growth hardwood forest; and the historic Rickenbaugh House.
