Located in Beckley, W.Va., the Beckley Fire Department has been offering firefighting and emergency medical care services since 1907. It provides rescue and fire prevention and protection services for local residents and commercial establishments. The department operates several fire stations and maintains fire handling and rescue equipment, such as a life support system, fire engines, ladders and ambulances. The Beckley Fire Department has a fire prevention bureau that conducts safety inspections and offers fire prevention teaching materials for grade school children. Its training division provides first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation classes for a range of hospitals, extended care homes, schools and day care centers.
