General Info
Dr. Parkus was recognized as a Top Doctor by TX Top Docs of 2019 and 2020. He has also been the recipient of the Crystal Award for Exceptional Patient Satisfaction from CHRISTUS Hospital St. Elizabeth. Dr. Parkus is board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery. His clinical interests include advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He specializes in abdominal surgery, breast surgery, advanced hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, trauma, and critical care. Dr. Parkus earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. His residency training in General Surgery was at the University Of South Florida School Of Medicine and did his fellowship in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma Surgery at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Dr. Parkus is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Eastern Association of Surgical Trauma, Texas Medical Association, Jefferson County Medical Society, and Regional Advisory Council for RAC-R. Dr. Parkus and Dr. Kavouspour formed a General Surgery partnership called Surgical Critical Care Associates, located in Beaumont, Texas, in 1999 and was later joined by Dr. Wooten in 2009.
