      The Gastroenterology Practice Mit Shah, MD Raised in Queens, New York, himself, Mit Shah, MD, is a dedicated and skilled gastroenterologist who enjoys helping local patients with their unique gastrointestinal concerns at The Gastroenterology Practice. Dr. Shah has treated and cared for a broad range of conditions, including abdominal pain, colon cancer, hemorrhoids, colon polyps, heartburn as well as rectal bleeding. Dr. Shah began his studies at Northeastern University, completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to pursue his medical education at the American University of Antigua, and achieved his Doctor of Medicine (MD). He is also a passionate learner, pursuing additional educational opportunities to receive further specialty education. Dr. Shah took part in a residency program for internal medicine at Nassau University Medical Center, and became a chief resident during his time there. He joined a fellowship for gastroenterology and hepatology there as well. Dr. Shah is an active member of several professional associations, including gastroenterology organizations such as the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE). In addition, he enjoys holding membership in the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr. Shah is a board-certified physician in gastroenterology, and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). During his free time, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, and traveling.
