Rude workers

The few times I've been in this store the workers ranged from unfriendly to downright cruel. The last time I was in this store, the cashier(a middle aged brownish red hair woman) scowled and rolled her eyes at me just because I smiled at her when she rang up my only purchase. Safe to say I won't be shopping there anymore and I advise others not to as well

Shopping at Food Tiger

I too have had problems paying with a check when visiting in the Bayou. It would be prolific for the representatives of Food Tiger to remember that many of us may have previously lived in the Bayou, and that many of us have contributed to and supported the Community in many ways especially after the hurricane. Perhaps some of us should get together and advocate for another food service provider to set up business in or near the Bayou and create a competetive market. A bit of competition might encourage the stores management to create a friendlier atmosphere to the general public including those who do not currantly reside in the bayou.

I would like to share my exper...

I would like to share my experience @ food tiger with one of the owners of the company.

I have lived in Irvington for many years and 90% of the time do my shopping @ food world.I found standing in line at food world for 40 minutes with less than 10 items to be a real bother, that's when I decided to try the other direction and travel to bayou la batre.

I did find the prices to be a bit better than the other stores and the effort to NOT keep customers standing in line really put a smile on my face , However as I handed the cashier my check she rudely and very loudly announced that food Tiger don't except checks from Theodore, I stood there not knowing what to say or do, then she continued, asking me are you from here ? we have never seen you before , you not from around here are you ? I felt like the entire store Stoped to have a look, I was so embarrassed. I ask the lady , you don't honor checks if they are not from the Bayou ? she replied with a sour look ,no we don't.! Then she yells across the store to the store manager , WE HAVE A CHECK FROM THEODORE ! the manager walks over and the cashier hands her the check while asking me a third time, where are you from ? your not from around here. The store manager signs the check and hands it back to the cashier. The cashier runs the check through the cash register and all I could think was, please hurry so I can get out of your store and I promise to Never return. needless to say i cried all the way home. I have never been treated this way,and I assure Food Tiger owners this is not a way to invite the public to shop at your stores, and to discriminate just because someone don't live in bayou la batre ? Do I have to convince whocovia bank to open a branch in the bayou just so I can shop ? It's really sad !
