      Dr. Sweeney chose his specialty, urology, because he enjoys the variety of cases and patients that he is able to see on a daily basis. Additionally, being a urologist allows him the opportunity to treat individuals of all ages – from children to senior citizens. He also feels fortunate to be practicing in a surgical subspecialty that continues to offer ever-changing technological advances.Dr. Sweeney completed his fellowship in urology at the University of California Los Angeles and residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.Dr. Sweeney credits his parents for helping to mold his sense of responsibility, morality and caring and his wife for continuing to keep him centered. He and his wife have four children. Dr. Sweeney enjoys golf, fishing, cross-country and downhill skiing and spending time with his family. In fact, he joined his church choir just to spend time with his wife, an excellent singer, doing what she enjoys most.Dr. Sweeney says that he tries to positively impact those he sees each day.I always strive to provide state-of-the-art care for my patients. As advancements in technology continues to expand, I am able to offer my patients treatment options that can help to minimize the negative impacts of their medical issues while maximizing overall quality of life.
