The Civil Service Deputy Director administers the Department of Civil Service in Baton Rouge, La. It administers a comprehensive merit-based personnel management program and helps state agencies to manage their human resources. Its training and work force development division provides training and work force development assistance to state agencies. The division also promotes education and learning within the Department of Civil Service by maintaining the Department s Learning Resource Center and conducting in-services and workshops for its staff. Its staffing division functions include the development of all selection procedures, including written tests and eligible ratings. Its compensation division, in partnership with the delegated agencies, is responsible for the allocation and reallocation of all state jobs. Its management information services division provides support in information technology and document management for the Department of State Civil Service.
