General Info
Leland Family Ministries is a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) non-profit faith-based organization that provides services to juvenile and adult offenders, addicts and their families. The interdenominational ministry is located at 1715 Hwy 17 South, FL 33830 Bartow The service provides programs to residents of Central Florida regardless of age, religious preference, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, gender, or physical ability and assists them in finding resources and information to deal with the incarceration or drug problem of a loved one. The service is a community outreach that aims to strengthen families and empower them to overcome a loved one's drug addiction or redirect the lives of the incarcerated while imprisoned and the successful reintegration upon release. The goal of Leland Family Ministries is to be an effective whole provider of faith-based family services to those needing support and resources. Initially operating as a Juvenile Justice outreach program, Leland Family Ministries has expanded to open the first Florida Chapter of Mothers Against Methamphetamine ( MAMA ). The Just Say No drug campaign has not worked and drug abuse among teens has skyrocketed. The MAMA approach combines the family and faith components to address the meth problem. Successful experience has taught the ministry that faith, family, and local involvement is key to restoring meth addicts, successful prevention awareness programs and community improvement.
