I had made an apt for my dog to get a yearly check and a rabies shot. My yearly card they sent of course said do many other things as they often due.. Everything, as in all we can possibly charge you on a visit. So for years I have been going along with all this, but I had recently did alot of research on other vaccines. So, when I called I specifically told the secretary that I only wanted an exam and rabies shot. She said ok and made my apt. 10 days later I drop of the dog. This office does not let you inside anymore. So I get a call from the dr. and Gail tells me my other dog Roxy is due for shots. Then she tells me she gave all the shots and stuff to my dog Choo key, because that's what she feels is right! yep, never mind what the pet owner requests, she does what she wants and then charges you for it! If it was not possible to do what I asked why not call me and cancel the apt? why not tell me at the door when I dropped Chookey off??? Why? And to give the dog a shot INCASE I BOARD HIM is absolute Ludacris! What kind of vet does what they want to the dog and not ask the owner permission? And her excuse? I do as I feel is best for the dog only. So basically it's my way or the highway! I SHOULD REPORT HER TO THE BBB

Dr. Hoyme and her staff are top notch. We love the fact that during your appointment, you and your animal are the only ones in the office. During the appointment your pet has their undivided attention. Their compassion towards animals and their owners is amazing. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hoyme and staff. We have been taking our dogs to them for 7 years, five years ago we moved an hour away from Boone but still continue to drive back to take our dogs to Dr. Hoyme. We tried another vet closer to our home when one of our dogs was sick but quickly made the decision to return to Dr. Hoyme and make the drive even when our pets are not feeling well. We and our dogs feel that it is well worth an hour drive to Blue Ridge Veterinary Clinic. Our dogs love seeing Dr. Hoyme. Their compassion and individualized care could not be replaced. As long as Dr. Hoyme is practicing we will continue to make the drive to have our animals cared for by her and her staff.
