Chartered in 1992, Baltimore Metropolitan Council is an organization of the Baltimore region s elected executives, representing Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties in Maryland. The council identifies regional interests and collaborates on strategies, plans and programs. Its areas of activity include air and water quality programs, building permits, data systems, computer mapping applications and cooperative purchasing. It is also involved with economic and demographic research, emergency preparedness and public safety, rideshare coordination, and transportation planning. Baltimore Metropolitan Council is located in Baltimore.
