East Bakersfield High School serves more than 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12. Its educational programs include instruction in science, English, mathematics and social studies. The school also offers visual and performing arts, career and technical education and advanced placement courses. East Bakersfield High School provides the English Language Learners program and counseling services. Its athletic activities include football, softball, baseball, swimming, golf and tennis. The school operates a band, orchestra, book and culture, environmental, French and journalism clubs. East Bakersfield High School offers special education programs for gifted and talented students. The school additionally administers a parent organization. It is governed by the Kern High School District.
