If I could rate this practice less than one star, I would. I've literally never had to jump through so many hoops to be seen and treated properly in my life!



It all started when I arrived 15 minutes early for my new patient appointment... 30 minutes past my appointment time,(45 minutes waiting time) I still hadn't been seen so I said something to the receptionist. Shortly after the billing specialist pulled me into her back office to discuss that I wasn't going to be seen for another hour or so and GET THIS!: "that there were plenty of sicker patients than me in the office and that I wasn't their priority for the day. Dr. Softa was backed up and I could see a different Dr. that day if I wanted to" EXCUSE ME. How would you know if other patients are sicker than I when I haven't even been seen and no one knows what is wrong with me? Complete and utter unprofesionalism. Second of all, this isn't an emergency room where patients are treated by prevailing medical status so why am I being treated second to someone else? Well I said I would be willing to see another doctor as long as it was soon. Within 10 minutes I was called back into a room. I waited in the room for 40 more minutes!!! This now totaled my wait time to nearly an hour and a half before I was seen. Dr. Softa (yes, Dr. Softa. Not even the other doctor who I was supposed to see!) took her time with me and was friendly and helpful. She ordered me a panel of labs which I took and left the office after over 2 hours of my time. I was told that I would get a phone call telling me the results of my labs if they were irregular.



Nearly 2 weeks later I hadn't heard anything so I started calling everyday to speak with someone about my labs. I called a total of 4 times for one week and never heard back. I finally got ahold of someone exactly 2.5 weeks after the day of my appointment. They said I would have to make an appointment to discuss my results with the doctor. I said NO. I am a cash patient and do not want to pay for my lab results this should have been done already as promised. In an attempt to just get my lab results and rid myself from this horrific doctors office, I asked for a copy of my lab results. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that I could come pickup a copy but one couldn't be emailed or mailed out due to violation of hipaa laws. Well, I know the hipaa laws and they sure can be mailed out or emailed at the request of the patient. They are not up to date on their laws yet spew them out left and right. I suggest Dr. Softa's receptionist take a current course on HIPAA laws!



I drove all the way (15 miles) back down to the office just to get my copy because I simply did not want anything to do with this medical office ever again. The receptionist recognized me from our conversation on the phone earlier and stared at me up and down with a glare in her eye. Again, complete and utter unprofessionalism. I held my glance at her as well to assert my authority; because as a patient- I AM what makes that office go round. I pay her to do her job and I HAVE every right to access my medical records without being made to feel uncomfortable by the staff.



Needless to say I will never be returning to Dr. Softa's office and if they come on here and read this, which I hope they do, I say this to them: GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND START PLACING A LITTLE BIT MORE VALUE ON YOUR PATIENTS. After all, they are what your business thrives on.
