Northshore Mining Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs, which is one of the largest producers and merchants of iron ore pellets in the United States. Cleveland-Cliffs operates several iron ore mines in Michigan, Minnesota and eastern Canada.
