Caution!!! When using these guys. Earlier this year I had to order a new pump in which they installed. The pump was fine, it ran with no issues and I was happy with their service. I decided to use their services to close down my pool this year, and this has caused me a huge headache. My pool has a dial timer in which there are two screw-on pegs that turn the pump on and off. Just under the dial is the on/off switch that those pegs interact with. The technician manually turned that on/off switch to the off position instead of the breaker that is on the same panel. Since he turned the wrong switch off, the 8am setting turned the pump on after it was winterized. The next day around 2pm I walked outside to see my roughly two month old pump smoking. I called Splash and was informed that the tech had to turn the unit off to winterize the lines. It felt as if I were being accused of turning on the pump after it was closed. She explained that this was out of her hands and she would have someone call us back. Later that day a man called and said basically the same thing.

Unbelievable. This place is awful. I set an appointment for them to come fix my pool a week ago and today, I called this morning to ensure my appointment would still happen. I was reassured by someone answering the phone that I had an afternoon appointment and that they would call before they came. 3pm rolls around (I took the day off work) and they never showed. I called them and they said they tried calling yesterday to confirm and since no one answered they canceled the appointment. The number they had in the system was not mine. The girl Miranda was super rude and unwilling to have someone still come out. Tuesday or next Thursday would be the best they could do. Great now I wait until my pool turns green for you guys to maybe make it out? forget it! This is the second issue I've had with them!

Worst pool place I've ever used. They do not honor their warranties or the word of their techs. Miranda was the rudest person I've ever dealt with. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS BUSINESS.

Purchased a pool pump from Spl...

Purchased a pool pump from Splash in June of 2011..Used the pump for the rest of the season up until October 2011 when I closed my pool down. So basically the pump was used for 4 months before I emptied and stored the pump in my garage. This May 2012 when I opened up my pool and installed the pump it was making a horrible noise which was obviously a bearing. Called Splash and was told I would have to bring the pump in so they could send it to the manufacturer to determine if the bearing noise was due to a quality defect or misuse by me. When I asked how I could cause a bearing to fail I was told there are numerous ways this could happen. I could have run the pump with out water going to it or I could have had a leak which caused the bearing to fail. This pump was used as intended and was not abused in any way. The pump is a centrifugal pump so the impeller does not touch a thing when it turns so no excess load there even if its dry. You could ruin the seal but only if you ran it for an extended period of time and the heat and friction this would generate is not great enough to ruin the bearing. The bearing itself is a sealed bearing so even if I sprayed the bearing down with water while it was running it wouldn't hurt it. Long story short Splash gave me the run around and DID NOT stand behind the product they sold me. They didn't exchange the pump within the 1 year warranty. They did offer to sell me a new pump while I waited for a verdict from the manufacturer and if the manufacturer decided it was a quality defect would reimburse me the cost of the pump. Good news for me is that I happen to be an electrical engineer with strong mechanical abilities and knew better than to believe what they were trying to shovel. I replaced the bad bearing with a new one I sourced from the Kubota dealer in Danville. The bearing was $6.50. I had the tools to pull the old bearing and replace it with a new one. Bad news for splash is that they lost a customer who purchased not only pool supplies, but also hot tub supplies from them. I wont do business with a company that didn't want to honor their warranty without making me jump through a bunch of hoops. Its possible the manufacturer would have determined that it was a quality defect and I would have been given a new pump, but that should have been between Splash and the Manf. I bought the pump from Slash not the Manf.

i.e., What a disappointment. The salesperson said that he had 35 years experience & would be present during the work. Hasn't happened.. We were supposed to be the second pool on the list but beginning 4/25 but didn't start til 5/31. They put the pool in the wrong place, It was in writing and staked He said he doesn't want ground water to run into the pool. I don't want it running up against the house and re planned on regrading. Right now, it looks like the concrete will be about 6 inches too high. They refuse to come to the house when my husband is here to address the issue and it can't be done on the phone. A Gravel truck shows up and tells us there is a 90% chance his truck will bust up our driveway. Apparently we were supposed to know this. We were told it happens all the time. Contract says they are not responsible for driveway damage. We thought that meant "accidental". They want us to pay 1/2 of cost for equipment that won't damage the driveway. I want the pool at right!
