General Info
Laurie Smith Design Associates (LSDA) / Smith + Morton Architecture (S+MA) provides responsive, cost effective and award-winning commercial and residential architecture & interior design services to clients, as well as providing consulting services to other architectural firms. We have a "less is more", "not so big" orientation and a longtime interest in sustainable design. We also look at projects from the dual perspectives of architecture & interior design. LSDA has functioned as a design studio for a broad range of project types focusing on building renovations & additions, space planning, interior design, lighting, art & custom furniture design and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment). S+MA focuses on corporate, healthcare, institutional and private sector projects as well as new single family residences. Some examples of specialized services that we offer include feasibility studies, facility analysis and green building certification assistance. We have received numerous national, regional and local design excellence awards and exposure in print and online publications ranging from Texas Architect, Interior Design Magazine and the World Interior Design Network to the ABA Journal, Health Facilities Management and Hospitality Design. Our work has also been featured on the Fine Living Network, on Austin AIA Tours and in the recent "UPtown DOWNtown" commercial project tour that was a part of "Austin x Design" week. In addition we have had projects included in exhibits at the UT school of architecture, conventions for the Texas Society of Architects & the Texas Hospital Association and fundraisers for the Charles W. Moore Center for the study of Place.
