Established in 1986, Galindo Elementary School serves more than 740 students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. The school provides math, science and reading classes. A Blue Ribbon School, it operates a parent-teacher association and offers several after-school programs. It administers the Spanish as a Second Language program. The school is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. It also conducts character education classes. The school offers guidance counseling and transportation services. It additionally provides a variety of food items for lunch. Galindo Elementary School is governed by the Austin Independent School District, which serves students through various elementary, middle and high schools.
