- Dental ExaminationAn oral exam is routinely performed by the dentist during the course of an initial comprehensive exam and regular check-ups. An oral cancer exam refers to the identification and management of diseases pertaining to the maxillofacial and oral regions.
- X-rays
- Oral Cancer ScreeningAn oral cancer screening is usually performed during a comprehensive or recall (check-up) exam. Screening is painless and only takes a few minutes. The dentist or hygienist will use a laser light to assess the soft tissue for cell changes that might be indicative of oral cancer. If such cell changes are present, a small biopsy will be taken and sent to a laboratory for review. If the biopsy indicates that oral cancer is present, an excision (removal) will generally be performed.
- Teeth CleaningA professional dental cleaning allows your dentist to remove plaque and tartar that has built up above and below the gum line. A professional dental cleaning is generally performed during your general checkup. Scaling and root planing are additional non-surgical procedures for removing hardened plaque and tartar from the mouth. This second procedure targets deeper pockets affected by bacterial buildup.

- FillingsA filling is used to restore a tooth that has suffered loss due to decay by rebuilding the tooth to its natural shape. The filling is created by filling the tooth with a dental material such as amalgam or composite resin. Omni Dental Group does NOT do amalgam fillings due to indications that amalgam contains mercury which can leak into the patient’s system and cause various health problems.
- Resin CompositeThe majority of decay on back teeth starts in the grooves and pits of chewing surfaces, especially during the first few years after their eruption. Sealing these surfaces with composite resins prevents this kind of decay.

- ApicoectomyGenerally, a root canal is all that is needed to save teeth with injured pulps from extraction. Occasionally, this non-surgical procedure will not be sufficient to heal the tooth and your endodontist will recommend surgery. Endodontic surgery can be used to locate fractures or hidden canals that do not appear on x-rays but still manifest as pain in the tooth. Damaged root surfaces or the surrounding bone may also be treated with this procedure. The most common surgery used to save damaged teeth is an apicoectomy or root-end resection.
- Periodontal SurgeryPeriodontal surgery is necessary when your periodontist deermnies that the ittsue around your teeth is unhealthy and cannot be repaired with non-0surgical treatment, Surgical procedures remove the disease-causing bacteria and allow the gum tissue to better reattach to healthy bone. Four types of surgical treatments most commonly prescribed are...
- Deep CleaningMy first visit was an examination and X-rays only, with the exam completed by Dr. Ho. I was warmly welcomed by the staff on my first visit, and was in a chair at my exact appointment time. My second appointment was today for a deep cleaning. Again, the staff was very friendly, I was in the chair on time, I was fully numbed with both topical and needle anesthetic, and Krista the dental hygienist was wonderful. I'm very happy with Omni Dental on Jollyville, and very grateful to the staff since the dental work I require is self-inflicted from not scheduling regular appointments.

- Tooth ExtractionsWisdom teeth extraction surgery is often performed to prevent future dental issues or to correct an existing problem. Around the age of 18, adults have 32 teeth, 16 on top and 16 on bottom and yet the average mouth can only hold 28 teeth. Dental complications can arise when the four extra teeth, known as the Third Molars, or “wisdom teeth” erupt, forcing their way into the space.
