- Pediatric CareAll of our doctors and nurse practitioners provide excellent, up-to-date medical care and always work within the spirit of partnership and empowerment to our patients and parents. We value communication between providers as well, so when we share the care of a patient, we work hard to keep everybody in the loop. We do not share call with other groups, so if you need to talk with someone after hours, it will be Southwest Pediatrics providers only.
- Family PracticeWe are happy to offer in-person appointments at one of our care centers near you: Treehouse Pediatrics, Cedar Park Pediatric & Family Medicine, and Southwest Pediatric Associates.
- Emergency CareAnd you will be forwarded to the appropriate after-hours service. IF YOU NEED EMERGENCY CARE, PLEASE CALL 911 RATHER THAN CALLING OUR PHYSICIANS AND WAITING FOR A CALL BACK.
- Flu ShotsParents can also get their flu shots, just add your name to your child’s appointment note. If you have private insurance, we can bill out and your vaccine will be free.
- ImmunizationsThere are many reasons to get an influenza (flu) vaccine each year. Because of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, getting a flu vaccine during 2020-2021 will be more important than ever. Flu vaccines will not prevent COVID-19, but they will reduce the burden of flu illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths on the health care system and conserve scarce medical resources for the care of people with COVID-19. Below is a summary of the benefits of flu vaccination and selected scientific studies that support these benefits...
- Pregnancy
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)Sometimes an annual well child exam allows insufficient time to adequately cover significant behavioral concerns. We also need a longer appointment to discuss any concerns that you may have about your child having ADHD or Learning Disabilities/Differences or significant developmental delays. We also commonly have parents concerned about difficult parenting questions. Sometimes a separate appointment to discuss those issues is necessary.
- Depression
- Mental HealthOver and above routine pediatric care. The cornerstone of pediatrics is wellness and prevention, and we are very proud of how we deliver well child care. Over and above wellness, however, we want to be your home for lactation services and care for chronic issues such as asthma, allergies and ADHD. We want to be your first call for concerns about your child’s behavior and development, academic concerns and mental health issues like depression and anxiety. We care about your child as a whole person, not just if they’re up to date on their shots.

- Diabetes Care
- Wound CareWe are still your first contact except in cases of true medical or psychiatric emergencies. We do not typically provide emergency care, but usually will need to direct you to the appropriate emergency department for concerns that are truly emergent in nature. Please call us first before coming in so that we can consider if our clinic is the best place for your child’s specific problem. We will make every attempt to provide all types of urgent care for your child during our normal office hours, including evaluation of lacerations and fractures, etc. We can provide wound care, surgical glue and stabilization of fractures as needed.
- Sports MedicineIf your child has had their well check in the last 12 months you generally do NOT need a separate sports/camp physical UNLESS the school district or sport requires it after a certain date. Sports physicals are a quick way to get cleared to participate, but they’re a poor substitute for an annual check up. These are scheduled with the first physician or nurse practitioner available, and not always with your primary doctor. We don’t bill insurance for these, and charge a simple, flat $50 fee. Your child’s well child exam is generally covered 100% by insurance, and is always a better option, but in a pinch, a sports/camp physical will get your child ready to play.
