      Robert E. Askew, Jr. was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and grew up in Austin, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1982 from the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1986. After completing his internship and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, he joined his father in medical practice in Austin. Dr. Askew enjoys carrying on his family's tradition of compassionate surgical care. He and his wife, Lori, have two children. Dr. Askew enjoys sailing, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
