General Info
Aurora Pediatric Clinic has been serving the Aurora, IL, community for more than 40 years. Our experienced pediatricians treat newborns, children and adolescents up to 18 years of age. While we cater to all children's healthcare needs, key services include: Newborn Care: The newborn check-up is usually done in the office within 1-2 days of leaving the hospital, when your baby is 3-5 days old. This check-up is important to assess the babys feeding habits, assist with breastfeeding, and check for weight loss and jaundice. If all is going well, the next newborn check-up is usually at 2 weeks of age. Well Child Check-Ups: Beyond the newborn period, well child check-ups are routinely recommended at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 24 months, and once a year thereafter. Well Child Check-Ups are important for you and your child, and are necessary for us to provide the best care for your child's physical, social and emotional health and development. It is our opportunity to focus on your child's overall growth and development, discuss diet and nutrition, screen for potential problems and risk factors, counsel on healthy lifestyle habits, advise on safety precautions and offer anticipatory guidance. Immunizations are often given at well child check-ups, and other screening tests may be done if indicated. Immunizations: We are advocates of immunizing children to protect them from harmful diseases such as polio, whooping cough, measles, meningitis, hepatitis, etc. We follow the immunization schedule as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Sports Physicals & Back to School Check-Ups: Many school programs and athletic programs require physicals or doctors notes prior to participation. We recommend yearly check-ups for all school-aged children. A yearly check-up is a comprehensive visit including a complete physical, an assessment of overall health, diet and nutrition, a review of family history and personal risk factors, guidance on healthy lifestyle habits, and screening tests and/or immunizations as indicated. Well-care exams are an important part of preventive care for your loved one. We can help you stay on track and monitor your child's well-being from infancy through adulthood. We invite you to come in for a visit and learn more about us. Call for your child's appointment today!
