I called to ask for an estimate and was given a little bit of an attitude, went ahead with the estimate, and was 2,000 more than the competition. I chose the other guy

This is the absolute worst service I have ever had. On 1/2/09 my gas boiler would not ignite and I lost heat and hot water. I had a contractor from Jeff Bernards plumbing and heating come out to fix it. Unfortunately my wife and I had to work that day so I made arrangements for my father in law to let the contractor in. I was never given an estimate or a phone call to let me know what the repair would cost.It took the contractor 7.5 hours to repair the boiler. He replaced just about every component in it with out ever notifying me of the cost. I arrived home that evening to find out that the repair was just being completed. I was charged $250 an hour plus parts for a total of $2250. I questioned the bill and in response was told by Jeff and his contractor that this is the going rate. I did the research and no one I can find charges anything close to Jeff Benard. In his ad he states that he has the best service and the best price. He couldn't be further from the truth. Do not use him.
