Located in Atlanta, Renal Division of Emory University is a clinical division of the School of Medicine at Emory University. The division offers a variety of research and fellowship programs. It offers research in various areas, including molecular biology and regulation of transporters, molecular mechanisms of protein wasting, vascular biology, pathophysiology, regulation of renal tubular growth, kidney disease, sonographic assessment and epidemiology. The university s renal division offers more than 10 National Institutes of Health-funded research projects and over 15 research projects funded by other sources. It also offers clinical training in angiography, thrombolysis, and angioplasty of arteriovenous grafts and fistulae. Its ultrasonography program offers various examinations, including diagnostic studies of native kidneys, screening of kidneys for carcinoma, renal biopsy guidance and visualization of veins for central venous catheterization. The division organizes various conferences, lecture series in clinical nephrology and biopsy reviews. Emory University School of Medicine is approved by the Association of American Medical Colleges.
