Mary macs is a historic restaurant in midtown. I fell in love with the place the first time I went, however the past two times has been quite disappointing. The fried chicken was extremely dry and the sides were cold and not very tasty.. I will give it another try though.

Good southern cooking. There was a little bit of a wait, but it was worth it. The fried chicken with gravy was delicious.

I always have a good time here, and my dad loves it for its down-home Southern food offerings. The macaroni and cheese is my favorite with the fried shrimp and a side salad with balsamic dressing (I've been ordering it for years!). You typically won't go wrong ordering anything here.

Mary Mac's can be best described as good southern food, not soul food but regardless it is so worth the trip. If you are lucky to get a back rub that's icing on the cake.

Great southern food with everything you can think of on the menu. The cinnamon rolls are a must have during dinner time.

Really good southern food. The collards are some of the best in the city. The wait can be long on the weekends, but for lunch during the week there is hardly any wait. The sweet potato pie is really good when they have it available.

Awesome!

I came from Florida to visit my dear friend and she took me to eat at this establishment and it was a wonderful experience. From the moment we were seated, the ordering experience, good southern food, dessert, and the southern hospitality was the best.

We love coming to Mary Mac's Tea Room. Great southern cuisine, and the best cinnamon rolls in Atlanta.

We really like this place, we ...

We really like this place, we come here for lunch often. The food is good ole' southern cookin' - even the celebs come here for their Atlanta fix! The service is suffering a little bit recently, though, but we love, love, love the squash casserole! The fried chicken is also something not to be missed, as it's truly "southern fried!" If you want the best tea in town and are a affictionato of mashed potatoes, then you've found the right place. Oh, and try the fried okra - yum, yum, yum! Ask for Alice, the waitress on Wed - she's the best and if she's there, we always ask for her. Note: I think they close early, though, as we went once and they were closed and check their weekend hours - may be limited.

An Atlanta Staple, But Inconsistent Lately

Definitely a place to visit. Great meat-and-two kinda place. Wonderful casseroles/soufflés. Sometimes the food is inconsistent. For example, usually the tea is too sweet and we order half sweet/unsweet, but yesterday it was not sweet enough. Usually I get the turkey and it is moist, but yesterday it was a little undercooked and dry. The other hundred times I have been there, it's been great, so hopefully yesterday was just an anomaly.

Best Mac&Ch 1st time not so the 2nd visit

1st time ever visiting Mary Mac was off the chain. I had took my daughter and her friend out to lunch. We all loved the food and the service. Everything was so so great, so great that my daughter's friend thought that when her parents came into town to visit her, she would take them out to Mary Mac's. So we all went. Her father ordered fish which was raw. The mac & ch wasn't near as good as it was the first time. Just all the food wasn't as near good as the first time!!!! The manager was called over to our table and I had asked him about the food, he said that they have over 160 chefs which is hard to believe so I guess that is why the food taste different everytime you visit! Overall, Mary Mac's is good. I would go back again someday. Just hope the pan handlers are not standing around bumming money!!!!

It"s OK

It's ok country cooking, but I can cook better at home. It is a little high price wise, probably because of the location.

I, along with a group of friends from Nashville, TN. dined at the Tea Room yesterday. Both the service and food were excellent. I enjoyed tasting "Pot liquor" for the first time, served with crackling bread. The manager and servers were very friendly, and completely addressed our needs. I highly recommend Mary Mac's Tea Room and plan to patronize it often in the future.Ralph Simpson, Nashville, TN

So so

I was actually disappointed with the flavor of the food. If you're looking for southern comfort food with great flavor, I wouldn't recommend this place.
