Provided by YP.comThis is an Atlanta staple. If you're BBQ fan, you MUST hit this spot up! There is always a line, but it's well worth the wait. A rack of ribs, mac and cheese with collard greens -- and you've got yourself a southern meal!

Provided by YP.comFamous Atlanta BBQ tradition...but food didn't match the expectations. I wish they had a broader menu...it really is all about ribs here. I felt like I was working to finish my meal rather than enjoying it.

Provided by YP.comA great place for ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. Their simple approach and good prices people coming back - oh, that and the great blues music. Every once in a while, the ribs aren't quite up to snuff but don't let that stop you from coming back.

Provided by YPmobileBest dry rub ribs in the city!! Mix that with delicious collard greens, sweet tea and live blues and you can't beat it! The place is small and there is always a line, but it is well worth the wait!

Provided by YP.comRibs were tender, tasty and nearly fall-off-the-bone. Chicken was very tender. Sweet potato pie was mouth watering. They get four stars because the only five star BBQ for me is Oklahoma Joe's (original location) in Kansas City.

Provided by YP.comFat Matt's Ribs are good - but have had better ... Like the small setting where you feel like you're with the family
Good, but doesn't quite live up to the hype. Still a great atmosphere to the place maintaining the small town restaraunt look and feel.

Provided by YP.comFat Matt's is my favorite place for ribs in all of Atlanta! The menu is simple and the place is small but you won't regret going. I have been several times and a couple of them there has been live music playing. That was a bit loud if you sit inside but perfect if you are sitting outside.

Provided by YP.comFirst, let me say that the word "Shack" is actually generous in describing this place. I don't think the place has been painted in decades, and the ceiling looks as if it will go at any minute. But even with all that said there still is no better place for BBQ in Atlanta. The ribs are succulent and the beans have the perfect combination of sweetness and kick. Add a pitcher of beer and you think you had died and went to heaven. Also, be prepared to meet and talk to people. The place has has about 10 tables inside (there are a few more outside)that are perfect for family-style eating. There is a blues band nightly.

Provided by YP.comLove Fat Matt's! Their BBQ is the best. Meat is tender, and sauce is tangy. If you are looking for a luxury place to eat, this is not for you. Their atmosphere adds to their food and music. Highly recommended!

Provided by YP.comif you havent made the visit next door to the famous fat matt's rib shack, walk the few steps to fat matt's chicken shack. nothing glamourous inside, but the veggies were cooked good good for a southern boy's liking and the fried chicken did fill me up. my friend had the catfish and said was seasoned very very good -- and he's a catfish expert! so next time you visit fat matt's -- check out the chicken shack!
went to Fat Matt's on the suggestion of a bell hop at the hotel I was staying with my wife. being adventurous, we took the public transportation and ended up walking app 1 1/2 to 2 miles (a good 30 minutes walk). we were a little unsure if we really would want to eat there because of the building appearance. we decided to have ribs for dinner, and so we went in. boy, was that a good decision. the ribs were amazing. they were better than ribs from any high priced and chain restaurants. there was also a band playing Jazz & Blues music. we spent less than $50 for a full meal, 2 adult beverages, and tips for the band. will definitely go again on my next trip to Atlanta.
The ribs are mouth watering. I went for my birthday and I am going to order a whole slab this time for Mother's day!
