General Info

Dr. David Schmidt is a board-certified general surgeon who has returned to Piedmont to continue his general surgery practice. He joins Piedmont physicians group after practicing for years and Gwinnett. Dr. Schmidt specializes in minimally invasive surgical techniques, being a leader and innovator in laparoscopic and robotic general surgery. He has champion the hernia center of excellence recently achieved by Piedmont Atlanta. He enjoys a healthy and active lifestyle with his wife, Nancy, and frequently walks the Chastain neighborhood with their dog, Shiloh. Their sons are graduates of Georgia and Georgia Tech, enjoying their careers in insurance law, and the start up world with slip robotics.
