- Struggles to establish recognition of fundamental human rights continue to take place around the world. The Center for Civil and Human Rights aims to deepen visitors' understanding of these struggles for equality by bridging the gap between past and present movements. Galleries here encourage reflection on the American Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and '60s before connecting those events to global movements happening today. Exhibitions: There is a civil rights exhibition created by George C. Wolfe, a respected Broadway director and writer whose r?sum? includes Tony Award?winning sensations Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk and Angels in America. The human rights gallery was curated by Jill Savitt, who serves as a special advisor at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. The Center?s unique and interactive exhibitions were designed by David Rockwell and Rockwell Group. The rotating selection of items from The Morehouse College Martin Luther King, Jr. Collection, which includes handwritten notes, speech drafts, and personal effects that belonged to Dr. King
