Katherine Merrill, M.D., AAFP is a Board Certified Family Physician. She graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1994. She then completed a 3-year Family Medicine specialty training in Renton, Washington with hope of settling in a rural community in the Pacific Northwest. She has been practicing in Astoria since 1997, and enjoys interacting with the whole family, from babies to grandparents. Angela Stock Nairn, M.D., AAFP is a Board Certified Family Physician. She completed her B.S. degree at Oregon State University, and her medical degree at Oregon Health Science University. She completed her 3-year Family Medicine residency program in Chicago, Illinois, and then returned to the Pacific Northwest. She has been practicing in Astoria since 2000, and she and Dr. Merrill have been in private practice together since 2001. By being Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Practitioners means that both doctors Merrill and Nairn have completed 3 years of supervised medical training beyond medical school. They are well-versed in family dynamics, and are eager to provide a full scope of primary care service for all of your loved ones. It also means that they are required to take additional training each and every year in order to pass the latest certification examinations every 10 years; this affords them the latest knowledge and skills in Family Medicine. They gladly accept the care of other children and adults in your family so that you can have one family doctor for the whole family. They rotate after hours urgent calls 24 hour per day, 7 days per week should your family need advice, and are both on the Medical Staff at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
