South Asheboro Middle School enrolls more than 500 students in grades six through eight. It operates several academic departments, such as language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school additionally offers elective courses in art, band, chorus and Spanish. South Asheboro Middle School has an athletics department that offers a variety of sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, football, softball, volleyball, wrestling, and track and field. Its media center offers the Battle of the Books program and stocks a range of print and multimedia reading and reference resources.
