- General SurgeryYou’re in good hands with Artesia General Hospital, and with general surgeon Michael D. Mann, MD. A former Air Force doctor, Dr. Mann has 30+ years of experience performing general surgery procedures—but he also understands that no surgery is “routine” to his patients. - OrthopedicsWhile orthopedics has branched out to include every aspect of the musculoskeletal system, the “Tree of Andry,” which Andry used to illustrate his text, is still used worldwide as a symbol of the specialty. - Joint ReplacementThere may come a time when your knee or hip pain reduces the quality of your life. Everyday activities, such as walking, shopping, or housework can become difficult or unbearable. Taking part in favorite hobbies such as golf or bowling may be a thing of the past because conservative measures like diet, exercise and medications no longer provide pain relief. If this describes your situation, it may be time to consider joint replacement.
- Vasectomy
- Hip Replacement“I had needed hip surgery for several years, but I couldn’t find a doctor willing to do it because my surgery would be much more complicated. So I was living in pain until I was referred to Dr. Wan. He did my total hip replacement surgery at Artesia General Hospital. And to my amazement, everyone in the hospital treated me like family. The nurses, physical therapists and occupational therapists, were all there to help me and teach me. I can honestly tell anyone who needs a new hip to get it. Everybody was the best. Thanks.”
- Knee ReplacementBecause hip and knee replacement surgeries are the most successful medical procedures performed today, most surgeries have no complications. When complications do arise, most can be successfully treated. Infection, blood clots and nerve damage are the most serious complications.
