The Artesia Center is a recreational facility that provides a variety of summer programs for children and adults. It organizes a range of sports events, such as basketball and volleyball. The center additionally conducts several recreational games, including quilting guild, shuffleboard, billiards and pingpong. It also offers various after-school programs that include tutoring and arts and crafts. The Artesia Center is a part of the government of the City of Artesia in New Mexico, which operates fire, police, water, warehouse, transportation and wastewater departments. The City of Artesia maintains a museum, the Artesia Historical Museum & Art Center, which displays and exhibits artifacts, historical photographs, and farm and ranch equipment.
