The American Diabetes Association is a nonprofit health organization that provides diabetes research, information and advocacy. Founded in 1940, the ADA conducts programs in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. It reaches hundreds of communities nationwide. The mission of the American Diabetes Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the condition. The ADA funds research, publishes scientific findings, and supplies information and other services to people with diabetes and the public. It offers memberships to both consumers and health professionals.
