Bottom line: significant water damage in the storage unit due to their negligence, a hole in the ceiling. I moved out on 5 days notice. They are insisting I pay for the entire month. I wasn't going to worry about the damaged posessions but after they refused to credit me for the rest of the month after I moved out, I'm changing my mind.

The nitty-gritty details:

I showed up Sat. Dec. 5 in the afternoon to pay my bill , when a new employee I had never seen before tried to tell my unit was being foreclosed on. I had made payments every month and was current on my rent.

Then she admits to me the previous staff was embezzling from them. They lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Despite the fact she knew their former employee had seriously screwed up the books, it took 3 hours to get it partially straightened out. I have audio recordings.

So I get into the unit and discover the water damage. I try to move out and get my money back. She says I need to be out by Dec. 8 or 9. I get my stuff moved out by scheduled close of business on the 9th.

They are also raising the rent by about 25%, just because they can. The previous manager had sworn up and down they would never raise the rent. Definite bait and switch, after I invested the time, energy and money to move in.

I spoke with the new manager who says they have no way of knowing if the water damage was preexisting. Essentially they are trying to say I my stuff was water damaged when I moved in and then I proceeded to leave it untreated in the unit for 5 months. I also have pictures showing the mold still on the walls nearly a month after I moved out.

No return contacts from the manager, supervisor or owner despite the fact I was promised a return contact.
