I took my dog in to be spayed. I was not offered pain meds, in fact they said they 'don't' give them when I asked. Spay is not a minor procedure and my dog is in quite a bit of pain. I was not offered sutures that dissolve, which I would have chosen. I called today to find out why they don't give pain meds. I was told they DO offer them, but that I was 'so concerned about cost' they didn't offer them to ME. This is NOT true. The only time price was mentioned was on my initial call. I simply asked what all the costs would be related to the surgery, as I think anyone would do. I did not express any opinion about the pricing or suggest that it was too much. I gave no reason to think that I would not pay for pain meds, unless using the SNYP coupon automatically says I'm cheap.I am livid that my dog endured such pain because this vet made an untrue assumption.
