Provided by YP.comWe just used Almost Home for the first time and left our 4 mo pup for 4 days. We were so happy with the service and price. The staff was really great with and to our pup. It was nice to know our dog had a rug available to rent so she had something soft to sleep on. Also, we paid very little extra for personnal one on one time with our dog - they called it playschool. Will definetyly use again! Thank you sooo much Almost Home.

Provided by YP.comSince the very first time we took our dog to spend his first trip overnight at Almost Home, we have been nothing but pleased with the motel. We treated our dog to one of their suites at only $25/night and he had his own climate-controlled room and t.v. When we walked into the place, there was literally no offensive animal smells. The staff went out of their way to be nice to both us and our dog. They even stayed a bit later than closing, allowing us to retrieve our pet when we were late coming into town. We have done repeat business with this professional and loving kennel and will do so whenever the need arises.

Provided by YP.comI was told the other day not to bring my two terriers back to Almost Home because I had the audacity to question their practices and essentially their honesty.
I was told by the owner-lady when I dropped them off that it would be $22/day. But when my wife went to pick them up the next week she was very surprised to be told by an employee that there was a rate increase (no less last fall) and the cost was $27/day. However, this is not the story I got when I spoke with the owner-lady on the phone later in the day - I was then told it was because they were each over 30 lbs! Their policy is to charge more for dogs over 30 lbs and less for under 30 lbs, which is reasonable. However, without proof, I was charged at a higher rate - their actual weights are 22 and 28 lbs - and trying to discuss this rationally with her was frustrating and futile. I was told "there is no pleasing you." Well, perhaps not, when I am being subjected to a policy that is obviously applied arbitrarily.
I was told that her staff had accidentally given them a $6 rug to use for which I was not charged, which begs the question: if I had wanted it, I would have asked and paid for it, but now I am suppose to be grateful and let them keep the $45 overcharge because of it? (She conveniently forgot that we supplied our own dog food during their stay thus providing her with a cost savings.) As I spoke on the phone with the owner-lady, I heard her husband yelling in the background "just hang-up on the jerk!" A hurtful comment, and completely uncalled for, since I was using a civil tone to discuss the matter.
I also mentioned to her that when my wife picked them up and on the way home, that they were panting very heavily and when they got home they each immediately ate two bowls of dog food and drank lots of water. The owner-lady said this was nothing...perhaps it is not that unusual, nevertheless, the level of indifference came as a mild shock. Isn't a kennel all about showing concern and administering care for pets? Finally, I just have to wonder what may have gone on in the past when they were there, in addition, perhaps, to being wrongfully overcharged. With that in mind, I am glad we are banned.
