- Dental CareEarly dental care is very important in the prevention of tooth and gum disease. While hard kibble and chew toys can help decrease tartar build-up, nothing can substitute for periodic brushing. Your puppy’s first toothbrush, as well as a handout on home brushing techniques, are included in the program.
- VaccinationYou already know that one of the most effective ways of protecting your pet’s health is to provide immunization against various common and sometimes deadly diseases. What you may not have known is that we are now offering core vaccinations free with your animal’s annual consultation! This includes rabies and DHPP vaccinations for dogs and rabies and FVRCP vaccinations for cats. Call today to schedule and appointment (925)754-7960!
- Comprehensive ExaminationOn the first vaccination visit, the doctor performs a complete physical exam from head to paw. Brief follow-up exams are done at each vaccine booster. During these exams, the doctor can answer any questions you have had about your puppy. We also offer informative videos and pamphlets, detailing various aspects of puppy care.
- Parasites Treatment and ControlInfestation with intestinal roundworms is commonly found in young puppies and represents a contagious hazard to people. Because roundworm eggs may not show up on early fecal examinations, all puppies are routinely dewormed with a gentle, safe, effective medication on the first visit. A follow-up fecal examination is then performed at 16 weeks to check for roundworms and other intestinal parasites.

- Leptospirosis TreatmentVaccinations are very important to prevent contagious diseases, which can severely debilitate and even kill a puppy. Your puppy receives a series of four to five vaccines against distemper, parvovirus, parainfluenza, hepatitis, leptospirosis, and coronavirus. For optimum effectiveness, vaccines are given every 3 weeks between 6 and 16 weeks of age. The one-year rabies vaccine is given at 16 weeks.

- Diabetes Treatment
- Thyroid Disease TreatmentFor speed and accuracy in treatment, we maintain our own laboratory and the latest in diagnostic technology. Laboratory tests are an important means by which we can diagnose blood disorders, kidney and liver disease, diabetes, infection, cancer, thyroid disease and other hormonal problems. Our in-house lab allows us to get the necessary results to treat animals in a manner that is both quicker and less expensive than would be possible using an outside lab.

- Dental SurgeryDental disease is the most common problem seen in our pet population today. Over 85% of all dogs and cats presented to veterinarians are affected by dental problems. This is especially true of the smaller breeds. The great majority of these are suffering from periodontal disease. This periodontal disease is what causes bad breath as well as destruction of the bone supporting the teeth, resulting in tooth loss. Our pet’s teeth must be maintained in exactly the same manner as our own. To help maintain oral hygiene, we offer services including cleaning, polishing, extractions, dental x-rays, endodontics and oral surgery.
- Veterinary SurgeryOur doctors and assistants are trained to provide skilled surgical services and careful anesthetic monitoring for your pet. We perform surgeries for torn cruciate ligaments, many fractures, C-sections, pyometras, and intestinal foreign bodies. Call us today for a consultation or second opinion.
