Me, my girlfriend, and my baby kitty stayed at the lodge for 3 weeks after leaving my parents house. We stayed there while looking and applying for an apartment. The lodge is good for exactly that, temporary housing while waiting for a permanent place. The landlord and his wife were very friendly to us and very hospitable. One of our fuses went out twice, and both times they had it fixed within 10 minutes. They let you stay with nothing but an ID, 75$ deposit, and the weekly rent. Which is nice in our situation, but also allows some unsavory characters to reside here. We didn't have any problems with any if our neighbors, in fact most were hard working people who had lived there for some time. They were all very helpful and welcoming. During my time in Ankeny, I had heard nothing but negative things about the lodge. I actually brought this up to the landlord when she was filling out a landlord section of an apartment application for me, and informed me that was under the old management. We paid 165$/week for a studio with a couch, bed, table with chairs, fridge, microwave (no stove, which reflects price) bathroom, TV, phone, and a sink. They had free wifi and free cable which was nice while in wait. For extended living its pricy, but for people with bad credit who get cannot get approved for an apartment, this may he there only choice. All in all we had a positive experience here, and wanted to express our gratitude for helping us out in our time of need. It's cheaper than a hotel room and having added rental history is a bonus. If your in the situation we were in, I defiantly reccomend the lodge l.
