The Street Department oversees the construction, replacement and repair of streets, city sidewalks and alleys and handles the removal of snow. It also organizes and oversees hole repair and administers street sweeping programs. The department works under the government of The City of Anderson, Ind., which operates various other departments. The City of Anderson also maintains a storm water management department that develops, implements, operates and funds the acquisition, construction, operation maintenance and regulation of storm water collection and drainage systems. It additionally has a city of clerk office and fire, police, parks and recreation, public and media relations, and human resource and insurance departments.
